4 secrets to create your brand and mean business

March 5, 2012 by Stephanie Stephens

Mind Your Body TV Episode 27 with Leah Komaiko.

When you’re small, you need a big idea to stand out from the crowd. So says strategic marketing and brand expert Leah Komaiko, whose clients have included mega-brands Liz Claiborne, McDonald’s, Disney, Philosophy Skincare, Philips and Mattel. Her specialty is women business owners 45+, and companies that target them and us baby boomers.

If you’ve been nurturing a big idea, maybe now is Your Time. Whether you retired and decided you’ve had enough of that and want a new challenge, or you’re working for someone else and want to “do your own thing,” I’m certain Leah Komaiko can help you here on Mind Your Body if you’re ready to create your brand.

She’s cool. She’s also an endearing combination of good energy and good humor—with lots of business success to back up the niceties. A pioneer among women stand-up comics at The (legendary) Improv in L.A., Leah learned quickly that in comedy, like in marketing, the audience decides within the first five seconds whether or not you are going to bomb. She also learned that some laughter at yourself is essential for survival in business, and in life.

Be you, yourself and you

You can create a grand business brand.
Your brand had better mean “business.”

In this video, Komaiko lays out some basic tips on how to succeed in business by really trying—to identify, create your brande and live your brand. About that brand, please know:

  • Not to skip over it and tack it on at the end
  • What you’re trying to sell
  • It’s a really excellent time to be in business (in spite of the naysayers)
  • To come from a wise place of “authenticity” and be who you are
  • When people “get” your message, you make a lasting impression

Stand and create your brand

Finally, your brand isn’t a logo, a song or a story. It’s everything. It really is YOU. So go create your (grand) brand!

And don’t miss Leah’s other Mind Your Body TV video here: It’s truly authentic (and you’ll see why.)
