I can’t forget this “TODAY” story about “Ageless Beauty,” a topic we’ve broached here on Mind Your Body recently. For example, this Mind Your Body TV video features a Bobbi Brown Makeup Facelift, and Lauren Hutton weighed in on her line designed specifically for us baby boomer ladies.
Can you hear it, the buzz about baby boomer beauty? In the above video, Wilhelmina model Valerie Ramsey, age 74, speaks eloquently about what it means to be beautiful when you’re not 20 or 30 anymore. She says ageless beauty incorporates being real, with confidence, courage, wisdom, vibrancy and the ability to be invested in life. Ramsey, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., was recruited by a Paris modeling agency—Masters Models Silver, Paris, France—seeking real beauties, like her, up to age 85.
Her book is “Gracefully: Looking and Being Your Best at Any Age.”
Beautiful aging
“Today” advertising and media expert Donny Deutsch quipped, “This is what beauty is,” and shared that he doesn’t love the look of plastic surgery on women.
He also compared the current ageless beauty renaissance in cosmetics and attitudes in general to that of Viagra use in men: Boomers and beyond won’t relinquish their right to “vital” or “healthy” aging. Now, it’s “beautiful” aging.
We’ve watched Ellen DeGeneres representing Cover Girl, seen Diane Keaton looking lovely for L’Oreal, and “rare bird” and style icon Iris Apfel motivate a sell-a-thon of MAC’s collection of lipstick, shadow, pencils, and nail lacquers.
Stand by for more “trending” on ageless beauty. And look in your mirror.
